NYMZ, as we like to call our foundation, was born from a single question (that was asked a few different times) - "why do you read science books on weekends?". The answer of course was and always will be - "why not?". My then middle schooler felt out of place when her friends would ask her that. After all, everyone she knew spent hours on sports and/or arts with with lot of gusto and no one ever asked them why. My daughter herself, being a swimmer, runner and martial artist spent hours at practice or meets but was never asked why she did that.
The idea that science can be fun for some did not seem like a popular one, so she and I set out to create our own way to seed the interest in science. Our goal is to create an educative space for those who are curios about science and to keep the fire burning in those who enjoy science.
Oh, and Avni loves to write (check out her book https://www.amazon.com/Abbandonato-Island-Avni-Iyer/dp/B08CP7LMZN/ref=sr_1_1?crid=20LRSRCK195HH&keywords=Abbandonato+Island&qid=1659669443&sprefix=abbandonato+island%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-1), so along with science, we also hope to encourage young writers to grow their writing.
Till next time! Stay curious!
